A huge number of international travelers arrive in Thailand from Hong Kong, and therefore this remains one of the most important destinations for Thai Airways. Marketing campaigns for routes via Hong Kong often include offers with a short vacation in Thailand before a business trip to China.
Traffic between Bangkok and Hong Kong is one of the highest in the Asian region. During the peak New Year season, it is almost impossible to find a ticket at a low price.
Ticket prices
Passenger traffic thickens considerably in winter, when tourists travel within the Asian region to attend New Year festivals, attend celebrations of important dates of the lunar calendar or simply visit relatives. The average ticket price is highest in January, February and March, but closer to summer, prices start to drop.
There is little variation in prices within a week, but the best time to buy a ticket is Monday or Tuesday. Book 90 days before departure, then the discount only decreases depending on how many days are left before departure.
